We offer all our patients an extensive range of  dental services including general and cosmetic dentistry, veneers, whitening, hygiene treatment options etc

At the Albany Dental Centre we pride ourselves on providing high-quality  treatment in a friendly enviroment . We are committed to continuing dental education and keeping abreast of the changes in modern dentistry. We encourage preventive techniques-helping you to understand how to maintainthe health of your mouth and keep it free from tooth decay and gum disease.

Our modern health-promoting approach means less decay and less fillings, less toothache, reduced costs, healthier gums and more attractive teeth. This means you are more likely to keep your teeth for life.

At the practice we offer the very latest in technology, including digital x-rays-this means we have instant images of your teeth and the radiation exposure is up to 70% less than conventional imaging systems.

Our hygienist is available to scale and polish teeth and instruct in the art of oral hygiene and prevention of dental disease. She also carries out fissure sealing of children's teeth.

Orthodontic treatment is available for you and your children on referral to local orthodontists. Orthodontics help improve the appearance of crowded and protruding teeth.

To help you look after your teeth we offer a good range of dental care products.

We try to provide as full a range of treatments as possible but please note that many of these are available on a private basis only.

We provide a range of treatment through the NHS  but there are items that are not available with NHS contracts. We give priority to existing patients when requesting NHS treatment and this is subject to the practice having spare NHS capacity. We are happy to provide full details of your options and an estimate of the anticipated cots.

Please be aware that it is impossible to give  a good estimate unless an examination has taken place and that treatment plans may change.

Services for Patients with Special Needs

When you arrange your first appointment, you will be encouraged to tell us if you have any special needs.

If you are disabled or unable to visit the surgery, we will do our best to help. We are equipped to handle wheel chairs and other disabilities.

Our biggest skill is listening to our patient's needs and requirements, which enables us to welcome nervous patients, and discussing all available treatment . If you have any worries about visiting the dentist, we can help you overcome the situation.

We always regard children as very special patients, and do everything to make their visits as pleasant as possible. Our main aim is to help them form good dental habits, which will prevent problems with their teeth in later life.

What to Expect at your First Visit

Please arrive 10 minutes before the agreed time to allow us to take some registration details. We will require a full list of medications and contact details of your medical practice.

We will conduct a full eaxamination of your mouth including screening your mouth for signs of oral cancer and taking any neccessary radiographs. We will discuss with you our findings, your treatment options and the costs anticipated. We will provide you a treatment plan for you to sign and agree a payment schedule where relevant. If time permits treatment may be started at the first visit.

If your first visit is on an emergency basis, we will be looking at the relevant problem only. We may request that you return for a full examination at a later date.

We do request details of your current telephone numbers as we operate a text messaging and e-mail system to remind patients 48-72 hours ahead of their pre-booked appointments.

We operate a Continuing Care Programme based on current good practice as recommended by the National Institute of Clinical Excellence. Appointment intervals are individually decided on the basis of clinical need.
